The World’s Fastest Electric Car
Electric automobile technology is making great strides and Nissan is proving that it is keeping up with a new prototype of its own: the Nissan ZEOD RC. Short for Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car, the prototype was unveiled recently and will be raced at next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours as a “Garage 56″ entry.
The ZEOD RC is proving that Nissan is at the forefront of electric car technology. For example: it will feature the lithium battery technology that is already being used by the Nissan Leaf, which won the 2010 Green Car Vision Award, along with many other awards.
That battery-powered engine in the Nissan ZEOD RC will be the power behind its speeds of up to 186 mph. Nissan is using the ZEOD RC to show that it is working towards new and innovative zero emission technology that can be used for future improvements in all of Nissan’s vehicles.
The 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours will be the stage for the Nissan ZEOD RC, but before then, many stages of testing will occur on the vehicle. Nissan’s fans have been granted a behind-the-scenes look with the unveiling of the ZEOD prototype, with a partnership with YouTube and Nismo.TV to give updates throughout the testing process.
