Mazda 6
Mazda 6

Mazda as a brand has never really been a car that set your heart racing. They are often boring family cruisers that are not much fun. Apart from the Mazda RX8, Mazda struggle with their image but they do build a reliable car. However, the latest version of the Mazda 6 is something a little different. The new vehicle offers a well-designed exterior with fresh modern interior. The new model is lighter than the previous model with its performance and economy.

When pitted against it rivals, the old version didn’t manage to make any impression but the new version has finally been able to hold it’s own against some very strong competition. It’s also worth noting that the price tag the Mazda has, is very competitive against some of its more expensive rivals. Another area where the Mazda scores well is that it offers a good range of petrol and diesel engines, giving the buyer a choice. They also offer saloon and estate versions, giving you even more choice.

The Mazda 6 has proved itself as a credible car to enter this market. It may lack brand image, but if you are looking for a very good all-rounder this could be the car for you. Other brands offer a similar vehicle with Ford and Volkswagen offering good alternatives.

Positive Attributes of the Mazda 6

  • Cast iron reliability
  • Smooth petrol and diesel engine
  • Superb build quality
  • Comfortable ride
  • Competitive pricing.

Things against the Mazda 6

The Mazda 6 as mentioned above has always suffered with brand image. Mazda do build good cars, but they lack character. The Mazda 6 is in a class where many car manufactures offer really good versions. Ford and Volkswagen both offer a similar sized vehicle with a lot of character and then you also have Audi and BMW offering a very up market luxury version. These cars are more expensive but some may opt for a used version rather than buying a new Mazda.
